An opportunity to join one of Perth's leading urban planning and design firms in an environment that supports you to exceed your potential. We are currently recruiting for a Town Planner to join our private consultancy, Taylor Burrell Barnett, with full-time and part-time positions available.
As a town planner at Taylor Burrell Barnett, you will be provided with the opportunity to take your career to the next level, working directly with our clients on a diverse range of projects. You'll be collaborating with a team of imaginative and pioneering planning and design experts, working towards delivering inspired environments where communities prosper and thrive.
About the role, the responsibilities and experience required: Aside from the opportunity to work with public and private sector clients on exciting projects like masterplanning communities to support future growth, working on development approvals for new apartments, or creating planning strategies, we offer you the ability to define your own career direction.
The work includes statutory and strategic planning tasks and supporting urban design projects, community and stakeholder engagement, placemaking and more. You'll have the opportunity to build your own client relationships as well as work closely with co-consultants across a range of private development sectors and work with local and state government departments. We also support and encourage our planners to grow their presentation skills to diverse audiences including government assessment panels, councils and committees and client presentations.
To be considered for this role you should have tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, and ideally be able to demonstrate some relevant experience in areas including:
Research and literature reviews, prepare planning advice, correspondence and reports; Prepare documents to support formal submissions and applications; Prepare and present proposals and submissions in various meetings and forums, including JDAP and council meetings; Analyse data to inform planning conclusions and prepare advice to clients; Maintain strong relationships with co-consultants, project managers, government agencies and clients; Most importantly, you should be excited by the prospect of working in a highly collaborative environment, where delivering exceptional client experiences is highly valued.
