The Transport Planning Prioritisation and Integration (TPPI) Unit, within the Transport Strategy and Planning Branch of TMR, provides strategic direction and leadership through the delivery, programming, and coordination of transport planning activities to achieve integrated transport planning and infrastructure outcomes across the state. TPPI is responsible for the development of Area and Regional Transport Plans (statewide), as well as formulation of the Transport System Planning Program (TSPP).
As Senior Planner, you will work in a team of multi-skilled professionals based in South-East Queensland, who form part of a broader state-wide team of transport planners. You will take a key role in the development, review and implementation of regional transport plans as well as deliver strategic transport planning studies. You will also support the strategic governance of the TSPP.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead and assist with the implementation and review of regional transport plans and project management of major complex multi-modal transport planning studies and investigations.
• Provide support for the development and management of the TSPP to ensure the transparent delivery of the continuing yearly planning pipeline.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to align planning, investment, and governance for the development of intergovernmental programs and partnerships, such as regional infrastructure plans and City Deals.
• Provide high quality and timely specialist advice and input on transport issues and opportunities in relation to strategic transport planning; regional land use plan reviews; transport policy development; modelling and data analysis.

Requirements of the role:
• Demonstrated ability to assist and lead projects.
• Knowledge and experience maintaining a high standard of practice in the planning discipline. Practical experience in applying transport planning policies, principles, and legislation to real-world issues.
• Ability to build and maintain successful professional relationships and networks with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills to prepare reports, briefing notes, presentations, ministerial correspondence, procurement documentation, planning and policy submissions, and general correspondence.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team to deliver a program of work.
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in transport planning, urban and regional planning, and land use planning, or a related discipline would be highly regarded.
