You'll be part of the Design and Placemaking Services branch, which delivers award-winning engineering, landscape architecture, and urban design projects. With a commitment to great Sunshine Coast Design, we work with our community to shape local places that are sustainable and align with council's Healthy, Smart, Creative vision.
You will work on a diverse range of complex public realm projects such as urban precincts and streetscapes. You will have the opportunity to work alongside the community to shape significant projects and see your designs progress from concept to delivery.
Responsibilities: Lead complex urban design and placemaking projects from concept through to construction as part of Council's Capital Works program.Work with our community to shape designs based on their values and vision for their local places.Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary and high-performing placemaking team.Deliver compelling communication of ideas and designs so that audiences can imagine and realise future opportunities for a place or precinct.About you: You'll be passionate about working with the community to develop great design outcomes and shape local places for the Sunshine Coast. You will be energised by the challenge of delivering complex urban projects and enjoy team-based collaboration.
Mandatory requirements of the role include: A Degree in urban design, landscape architecture, or an equivalent qualification relevant to design.Extensive skill, knowledge, and experience in the delivery of complex place projects including precinct planning, public realm upgrades, and streetscape projects.Strong conceptual and design development skills and good understanding and knowledge of design documentation and detailing.Significant experience in delivering community and stakeholder engagement.Excellent collaboration skills with strong written, verbal, and graphic communication.Our Culture & Employee Benefits: Council is committed to creating an inclusive, culturally diverse, healthy, skilled, and dedicated workplace culture.
