About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior People Advisor for our Rail Operations Business Unit.
This Melbourne based fixed term parental leave role, with occasional travel interstate, will be responsible for successfully supporting implementation and delivery of all people matters (including capability building, talent management, staff engagement, performance management, industrial relations to name a few).
Reporting to the People Lead, you will work closely with our Rail Operations leaders and employees nationally to: Provide timely and accurate HR/IR advice and guidance Support the facilitation of the annual salary review process including, staff market alignments, promotions and providing advice to managers on bandings and relativities.
Facilitate and support with performance development, performance management and disciplinary processes.
Assist in the identification of training gaps and support the delivery of coaching/training.
Support and provide advice on change initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organisational vision, values and business strategy.
Support the People Lead in development and implementation of proactive employee engagement and retention strategies.
Support with enterprise agreement negotiations.
Actively contribute to the achievement of the people business plan and more.

About you

You will have: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and influence decision making to achieve necessary outcomes.
Experience in providing HR and IR advice and support by utilising your working knowledge about best practice and relevant legislation.
Experience as a generalist HR professional with practical application of Human Resources in Project Construction, Heavy Industry Manufacturing work environment.
Experience supporting white and blue collar employees and advising at all levels of management.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic and respectful manner.
A Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, or equivalent experience.
