Clinical Labs WA has been serving the local community for over 80 years and provides diagnostic services to a number of hospitals and specialists as well as general practitioners. We have six medical laboratories, over 160 collection centres and a team of more than 700 who are committed to partnering with our referrers to provide accurate and timely results and high quality, patient centred care.
We have a full-time position for a Senior Regional Pathology Collector to be based at Geraldton. In this position, you will be a self-motivated individual who can demonstrate an attention to detail, along with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on outstanding customer service.
The Senior Regional Pathology Collector is responsible for the day-to-day organisation and functioning of their allocated area including management of personnel, allocation of resources, specimen collection, quality control, staff training and administrative duties as directed by the line Manager. It is expected that this position will work collaboratively as part of the team ensuring excellence in the customer experience in regards to specimen collection. The goal is to provide a professional customer service link between health professionals, their patients and the laboratory. Teamwork and cooperation between stakeholders is also a primary focus, and driving excellent customer service to our clients (both internal and external).
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assist the line manager in rostering, supervision and training of staff in your designated areaAssist the line manager in competency assessments, performance management and collection auditsCollection of blood and other samples from patientsAttending to the care, storage and processing of pathology specimensAttend to paperwork and associated clerical duties to ensure all details are correct in a timely mannerTo be considered for the role you will need to possess the following:
Certificate III or IV in Pathology Collection or relevant industry experienceMinimum 5 years' experience in pathology collection/phlebotomyGood computer skills, exceptional customer service skills and telephone mannerExceptional time management skillsAbility to communicate effectively with the collection team, referring doctors and patientsAbility to understand and ensure compliance with WHS policies and guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy workplaceDriver's licence as this role requires visiting multiple sitesThe successful applicants will be required to address the criteria above in their application.
