Your focus will be on creating inclusive, accessible, and environmentally resilient green spaces that enhance community well-being and strengthen the connection between people and nature.
In this role, you will lead the development of high-quality urban design outcomes and provide expert strategic and technical advice.
Your responsibilities will include delivering creative presentations, offering specialist input on best practices and emerging trends, and managing the day-to-day operations of planning and design projects.
You will also play a pivotal role in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including building meaningful relationships with the Kaurna community to support effective co-designing with Country.
Your expertise will ensure that projects align with the City of Adelaide's Reconciliation Action Plan and Park Lands policies.
By working closely with various experts and senior council officers, you will contribute to achieving regenerative outcomes for the Adelaide Park Lands.

About You To be successful in this role you will have: Extensive experience in urban design, landscape architecture, open space and/or park lands planning and management.
Significant experience in strategy development, including a demonstrated ability to balance multiple and often competing demands on the use of open space and their day to day and long-term management Extensive knowledge and understanding in relation to the following areas: biodiversity and natural systems the role and values of urban park lands in today's society cultural heritage and land management sustainability principles and practices sport and recreational philosophies and trends geospatial data gathering and analysis Sound knowledge of the South Australian planning system.

Please be advised this is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a starting salary at the Level 7 Classification commencing at $113,341 + 11.5% superannuation.
Please note that the base salary will increase to $116,741 commencing the first full pay period in January 2025.
