This is a permanent, full time vacancy. The State Solicitor's Office is seeking a dynamic and experienced senior paralegal to join our busy Commercial section.
The Office The State Solicitor's Office (the Office) is the Western Australian Government's principal legal adviser. The Office enables government action, manages the State's legal risk, and supports the First Law Officer with authoritative advice on key legal issues.
The Role The Commercial Section provides support across government in relation to advising on, and the commercial negotiations and drafting of, contractual documents in relation to commercial activities of government including for State Agreements, the procurement and delivery of major projects and the outsourcing and service aspects of large-scale transactions in social and infrastructure projects.
This position supports legal officers and clients to ensure effective working relationships across all stakeholders. The Senior Paralegal (Commercial) carries out complex paralegal work and is required to manage complex legal files.
You will have:
The ability to draft relevant and complex legal documents, including the drafting of a wide range of complex infrastructure, procurement and intellectual property documents.The ability to undertake effective research in the management of complex and/or sensitive matters.The ability to interpret and apply legislation.The ability to perform complex Personal Property Securities Register and Intellectual Property registration tasks.What is on offer?
