This role will be primarily responsible for providing leadership and management of all file management to ensure efficient and effective delivery of registry services to the Tribunal.
There may be a requirement at times to work across the Civil, Administrative and Disciplinary (CAD) Division or the Human Rights Division (HuRD).
As a Senior Operations Manager, you will: Perform duties as defined in the QCAT Principal Registrar Instrument of Delegation, Queensland Civil and Administrative Act 2009 and provide authoritative advice concerning the practice, procedures and operation of the Division within QCAT.Provide high level information, advice and support to the Assistant Director-General/Principal Registrar, Deputy Principal Registrar, and QCAT judicial officers and tribunal decision-makers about complex files and processes.Lead Senior Registrars in the delivery of court services, in line with relevant legislation, policies and delegated authority, while upholding ethical decision-making principles and standards.Lead the team to foster an organisational environment that supports staff, values performance and personal development, teamwork, customer focus and best practice outcomes in trauma-informed service delivery.Contribute to the strategic and business objectives of QCAT and support QCAT's leadership team by fostering a work environment focused on continuous improvement through identifying and implementing business processes and technology-based improvements.Provide high level management and leadership across workforce planning, performance management, change management, service improvement and effective governance; developing implementation plans that guide staff to deliver the required outcomes.Build and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with peers, the judiciary, and tribunal stakeholders to enhance business efficiencies and services.Support the Deputy Principal Registrar to formulate strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing community awareness and understanding of the justice system, while effectively achieving organisational objectives and supporting court users from disadvantaged backgrounds.Integrate trauma-informed, compassionate, and culturally appropriate service delivery into strategic planning and implementation, ensuring responsiveness to stakeholder needs.Role model contemporary leadership and strive for personal growth, while providing positive and fair feedback to build the skills and performance of your team.Lead, mentor, and motivate dispersed teams to foster cooperation, cohesion, and a positive working environment.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in registry practice, while building the capability of staff to deliver high quality and human-centred services.Establish and champion a best practice approach to risk management by recognising and responding to risks relating to Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV), and anti-social behaviours of tribunal users.
This also includes determining appropriate practice and procedures for actions and pathways for information sharing with other internal or external parties to ensure the safety of all staff and tribunal users.Critically review the currency and consistency of operational standards across registries and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.Research and prepare briefing notes, ministerial correspondence (including investigating and actioning complaints), submissions, memoranda and other administrative requirements as requested.Actively manage financial, human resource, data and risk management practices to ensure accountability and efficiency; develop and implement risk treatment plans.Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by supervisory and management staff, ensuring adherence to professional standards and organisational objectives.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
