Where you'll be working You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within the NSW Health Patient Allocation Matrix Project in the System Management Branch, System Sustainability and Performance Division based at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW 2065. The System Management Branch is responsible for the NSW Health Performance Framework and monitoring performance against Service Agreements with Local Health Districts/ Speciality Health Networks (LHDs/SHNs) and Service Contracts with pillar organisations. SMB has direct accountability for the implementation of performance goals and strategies and improving the delivery of high quality health services through coordinating and promoting state-wide initiatives.
The System Management Branch is leading the design, test and build of the NSW Health Patient Allocation Matrix Project across the state in both metropolitan and rural areas over a 24-month period.
NSW Health Patient Allocation Matrix Project provides a unique opportunity for NSW to better manage the distribution of patients across emergency departments, based on their capacity at any given point of time. This will reduce pressure on the health system and minimise the number of ambulances waiting to offload their patients. Paramedics will also be provided with real-time information to support their decision-making when selecting an appropriate destination for their patient's care.
About the Role The Senior Operational Project Officer will be responsible for managing the development and evaluation of policies, programs, projects, and activities for the Dynamic Statewide Ambulance Matrix project including and not limited to:

Deliver comprehensive project management support, process improvement initiatives, stakeholder engagement and change management activities, that will drive identification and design of strategies to meet the objective of enhancing patient experience for NSW Health.
Working with the Senior PMO Manager, Clinical, Operational and Technical Stream Managers to manage all Program and Executive level reporting.
Potential to monitor financial reports and general ledger transactions specific to the Program to report on financial risks and issues.
Assisting with the monitoring and reporting of Program benefits and outcomes achieved on a monthly basis.

Selection Criteria

Extensive experience in managing medium to large and/or complex projects in a large and complex service industry organisation. This includes extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope.
Demonstrated experience managing and overseeing major aspects of projects management and implementation, including developing and monitoring project plans, coordinating resources, reporting, issue and risk management and managing budgets.
Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
Superior organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with proven capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve business goals, perform and always work with a customer focused approach.
Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience engaging, collaborating, and influencing key stakeholders and customers to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes.
Demonstrated experience leading and developing capability of a team, and coaching and advising managers, whilst always fostering a performance based and customer focused work culture.
Proven capacity to develop and implement complex strategic initiatives, including the capability to plan, manage change, improve performance and project manage.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as communications, health management, nursing, allied health, and / or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
