Senior Nursery Person

Applicants for this position will have the following attributes: Proactive approach to work Strong planning Customer-focused  Skills required for this position are: -Cert IV in Horticulture or allied field (equivalent or higher) -Minimum three years experience in overseeing a commercial nursery Responsibilities include: Oversee the operations of the nursery in producing tubestock for Australian Wildflowers farm production Develop the capacity of the nursery to integrate commercial natives for retail sale Oversee the distribution of nursery sales Implementation of the annual propagation plan Liaison with other business managers as part of planning and budgeting engagement Oversee staff in nursery division and ensure good practise of Occupational Health and Safety standards across the business Actively participate as part of the leadership group in the business ensuring an integrated approach across the businesses activities Duties include: Undertake nursery activities including: Preparation of potting and cutting media Sterilisation of pots and other tubestock hardware Hygienic handling methods of cutting and pot stock Germination and cutting practices Potting on methods Fertilisation application Fungicide application Implementing and overseeing Nursery operations, including watering and temperature control, both manual and automatic operations. Selecting plants for retail sales Liaison with other business managers to determine best practise distribution methods and presentation of retail stock Contact with customers regarding after-sales care Collation of all data from nursery activities Your application will include the following questions: Have you completed a qualification in horticulture?
