The NEC Secure Networks group is expanding in WA. We are currently looking for a Senior Operations Network Engineer to join our team. The core responsibility for this role is to support NEC's Nationwide customers, providing network support to public and private sector across the nation with a laser focus on WA.
Core skills requirements Hands on experience in deploying and supporting complex LAN, WAN & Wi-Fi solutionsExtensive troubleshooting knowledge of network issues with a methodological approach.Expert understanding of the following protocols and technologies:Routing: BGP & OSFP, network virtualization (underlay/overlay)Network segmentation: MPLS & VRFsLAN: VLAN, trunkingWireless: Cisco 5520, Cisco 9800, Aruba Mobility Master, Controller & Central.AAA: 802.1x, MAB, LDAP, Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPassNetwork services: DHCP, DNS, etc.Working within the ITIL framework, using Remedy to track and update incidents, create changes, update the asset registry and more.Participate in state-wide upgrade rollouts for critical network equipment within the customers and NEC corporate environments.Adhering to correct policies and procedures to ensure consistent service delivery.Mentor & share knowledge with juniors and peer engineers.Participate in the nationwide documentation effort by actively participating in the creating and update of the network knowledge base.Participate to the on-call roster (1 week primary, 1 week secondary)Completion of relevant certifications such as: Cisco CCNP/CCIE and their Aruba and Juniper equivalent.Security skills: FortiGate & CheckPoint firewalls.Cloud based management platforms: Aruba CentralCloud interconnectivity: AWS DirectConnect & Azure ExpressRouteCoding skills and experience with Python and/or Ansible to participate in the nationwide automation effort.Perks and Benefits: At NEC we offer an outstanding working environment, fantastic corporate culture and an excellent track record of internal promotions along with continuous learning and development opportunities.
