Our client is an ASX listed, Australian resources exploration and mining company with projects across Australasia. Stratton is seeking applications for an experienced Mine Planning Engineer to join our client's growing team. This is a permanent opportunity based at our client's mining operation in the Mt Isa region on an 8/6 FIFO roster.
This business-critical position is responsible for the effective, safe, and strategic planning of our client's young open pit operation, to support the site business plan and long-term strategy. Focus is on short- and medium-term plans and designs, along with related data management, data analysis and modelling that will support mine optimisation as our client considerably ramps up production.
Key Responsibilities: Daily and weekly reporting on plan metrics and delivery of short-term schedule.Liaise and assist with the long term mine planning department for future pit development, TSF locations, dam relocation and future mine development.Liaise with the Technical Services team to develop strategic plans for mining to meet plant blending needs and ensure full optimisation of the reserve to meet client specifications.Develop plans in conjunction with the Environmental Advisor for restoration and rehabilitation.Liaise with the key stakeholders and contractors on continuous improvement initiatives.Work with the Mine Manager and assist in regular auditing of the processes, equipment, performance and team management to maintain a safe working environment. What you'll need to be successful: Tertiary certificate in Mine Engineering or related discipline.5+ years Demonstrated experience in mine design, scheduling, planning, cost evaluation, and optimization.Strong working understanding of safety systems and Open Pit production mining methods.Proficiency in technical report writing, problem-solving, and presenting and communicating information.Analytical with an eye for systematisation and mine performance analysis.Indigenous Cultural Awareness.Proficiency in Surpac Mining software, Microsoft Projects & Office suite, and drone package software would be advantageous.Project, team and contractor management experience (desirable).Knowledge of Queensland Mining Act and Regulations and Risk Assessment analysis.First Aid Certificate.
