About The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity has arisen, due to an internal promotion, for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Merchandise Planner/Planning Manager to join our expanding team. Reporting to the GM of Planning, the Senior Merchandise Planner of Kids will drive one of Adair's most exciting and strategically positioned categories. This role has the goal of optimising whole of category performance by implementing planning strategies to achieve sales, gross margin and inventory goals.
How you will spend your day: Perform post-seasonal analysis, providing recommendations on future strategies and plans. Prepare seasonal merchandise budgets and plans at a department and weekly level. Develop optimised range, option and grading plans which offer the right mix of product to meet customer needs in line with forward strategy. Proactively forecast and manage sales, profit and inventory in line with targets, and conduct monthly financial plan OTB reviews. Drive reporting and analysis, providing actionable insights, recommendations and decisions on current and future trading patterns. Plan and execute strategies to manage product lifecycle and ensure stock is cleared in a timely manner. Work collaboratively with the product team, retail operations and supply chain on achieving joint goals. Lead and develop an amazing team of Planners and Allocators, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. About You: Demonstrated experience in retail merchandise planning and its disciplines, including OTB management, range planning, product lifecycle management and allocation. Experience in leading and developing a team towards achieving departmental goals. A passion for understanding not just the numbers, but what sits behind them. Experience working in a fast-paced multi-channel environment with a diverse portfolio of departments. Analytical mindset with confident decision-making skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
