About the Role:
The Senior Safeguards Multi-Disciplinary Mental Health Clinician will provide expert clinical care to children & adolescents (0-17 years) in acute mental health distress and offer information and support to their families/carers.
This position requires the provision of evidence-based, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate mental health assessments and needs-driven psychological interventions as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The Safeguards Team operates 7 days a week with extended hours on weekdays, responding to young people in their schools, homes, communities, and hospital-based settings (EDs/Wards) through face-to-face, phone, and telehealth appointments.
The team is committed to establishing and maintaining a positive health and safety culture, including providing supervision and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and consumer outcomes.
The Safeguards Team is a new dedicated resource designed to provide innovative and best practice care to children and adolescents aged 0-17 years experiencing acute mental health distress.
The team is community-based and provides rapid, mobile, and flexible care to resolve mental health crises, including assertive outreach, care coordination, and time-limited therapeutic interventions across the district.
