About the Medical Workforce Unit The Barwon Health Medical Workforce Unit supports all our doctors, from Interns to Senior Medical Staff with workforce services including recruitment and credentialing, appointments and contracting, rotation, rostering and timesheet management, pay and leave management. The unit ensures the health service is sufficiently staffed with skilled medical staff to provide safe, effective, and high-quality service at all times.
About the role We are looking for an experienced coordinator, with a proven track record and qualifications in healthcare or other business recruitment, talent acquisition, human resourcing, and administration. We welcome candidates with different backgrounds, experience, and qualifications, including current clinicians with administration or management experience. If you have previous medical or clinical workforce experience in a health service, or have extensive corporate business recruitment/talent management experience, or a clinician who is looking to branch out into non-clinical health service business aspect management, then this role may be for you!
This role requires you to be an effective communicator with our internal and external stakeholders, including hospital clinicians and business partners. This role will suit candidates who are able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize the needs of the medical workforce. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a systems-based approach, proactively building on and developing process improvements and innovations to enhance the effectiveness of the role.
This role is part of the Senior Medical Staff team in the Medical Workforce Unit. This team supports the health service's medical specialists, who are the senior clinical decision-makers responsible for patient care. This role, as part of a team, is responsible for credentialing, appointment, contract variations, onboarding, pay, leave, and roster management and administration for medical specialists being employed at Barwon Health.
This role is required to participate in the shared Medical Workforce on-call roster. The on-call roster fields urgent after-hours calls and notifications pertaining to acute medical staff vacancies.
