The Opportunity
ConocoPhillips are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer based out of their Brisbane Corporate office. Reporting into the Lead Mechanical Engineer, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will provide mechanical technical authority and support for the LNG facilities, ensuring optimal performance of mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient operations (APLNG).
Core Responsibilities Lead and participate in technical investigations, root cause analyses for equipment failures and incidents involving the Mechanical Engineering discipline, Ensure all mechanical engineering work adheres to safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices, Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development, Work with the Asset Integrity and M&R groups to develop and manage repair scopes for static equipment and oversee their implementation on site as required, Ensure static Mechanical Engineering technical support is provided to both the Turnaround Team and M&R to ensure all statutory activities are included and executed, Stay informed about relevant regulations and ensure that mechanical systems and operations comply with local, national, and international codes, Stay abreast of technological advancements in mechanical engineering and LNG operations, promoting the adoption of new technologies and methods. Requirements Relevant tertiary degree i.e., Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Industrial, 8+ years' engineering experience (static, downstream preferred), Registration as RPEQ/Chartered or ability to register as RPEQ/Chartered, A technical/sound understanding of systems including pressure relief systems, pressure vessels, pressure piping, structural systems, lifting systems and hydraulic systems, Must have full AU working rights (AU Permanent Residency or Citizenship).
