The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in gas pipelines, welding and fabrication, subsea production equipment, FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) processes, and corrosion modelling. This role demands a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to solving complex engineering challenges.What you'll doThe role responsibilities include:Evaluate and select appropriate materials for gas pipelines and subsea production equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.Conduct material performance assessments and failure inspection to enhance reliability and safety.Oversee welding procedures and fabrication processes, including the development and implementation of welding specifications and quality control measures.Provide technical guidance on welding techniques, standards, and equipment for offshore installations and repairs.Design and review subsea production equipment with a focus on material compatibility, structural integrity, and long-term performance.Collaborate with design teams to integrate materials and welding considerations into subsea systems and components.Guide or support FEED studies related to materials and welding for gas pipeline projects and offshore facilities.Ensure that materials and welding considerations are effectively addressed in the early design phases to optimize project feasibility and cost-efficiency.Develop and apply corrosion models to predict and mitigate potential material degradation in offshore environments, including top and bottom of the line corrosion.Implement corrosion monitoring and prevention strategies to extend the lifespan of pipelines and subsea equipment.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.Act as a key point of contact for technical issues related to materials and welding, offering solutions and recommendations as needed.Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry codes, standards, and regulations.Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and specifications related to materials and welding.What you'll haveBachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
