About the role AEMO's System Planning team is seeking a Senior Market Modelling Analyst to assist in forecasting and planning the transformation of Australia's electricity networks while maintaining reliable and secure energy supplies. This role will require your critical thinking to Australia's evolving energy landscape, and you will be rewarded by playing a key role in planning the energy system of the future. As a Senior Market Modelling Analyst, you will lead and support the development, advisement, and communication of medium to long term forecasts of electricity energy resources. This will require a mix of forecast methods, techniques such as market dispatch optimisation, machine learning, statistical, econometric, economic, and technical/engineering approaches. Your leadership and mentoring will support the team on technical modelling matters and will have a specific focus on supporting AEMO's National Planner function. You will be required to interpret a large amount of information to understand industry sectors in transition, technological and behavioural change, and periods of potentially disruptive transformation of the energy sector.
