As a Senior Strategy Manager, Strategy and Planning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic agenda and delivery roadmap for Cash & Transactional Banking (CTB). Guided by CTB's vision to help customers manage their money and businesses effectively with a digital-first experience, you'll join the Strategy and Planning squad, a team tasked with driving strategic planning, overseeing initiative spend, and tracking benefits realisation.
In this high-impact role, you'll bring both traditional management consulting expertise and innovative problem-solving skills to address complex challenges for Westpac Group's 13 million Consumer and Business customers. Your work will span customer acquisition, lifecycle management, market scanning, product innovation, pricing optimisation, digital banking innovations, and more.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing CTB's medium-term strategic agenda to achieve its vision.Managing quarterly business planning cycles and prioritisation discussions for the Line of Business (LoB).Overseeing initiative spend and benefits realisation, including facilitating trade-off decisions.Conducting market and competitor analyses to identify emerging opportunities.Identifying and managing strategic partnerships to address key needs.Collaborating with senior delivery leads to prioritise and execute high-value initiatives.Leading the annual Business Strategic Review (BSR) process to identify and quantify initiatives.Driving customer-focused outcomes across people, process, and technology dimensions. What do I need?
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
5-7 years of strategy or management consulting experience in a tier 1 consulting firm, strategy boutique, private equity, or corporate development role.2-3 years of project delivery experience in large organisations, showcasing strong problem-solving and influencing skills.Proven expertise across a range of strategy services, including corporate and portfolio strategy, customer and segment strategy, capability and operating model strategy, and strategy execution.A practical, detail-oriented approach focused on rapid delivery.Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage with diverse stakeholders at all levels.A customer-centric mindset with an interest in banking, finance, economics, customer experience, and digital innovation.Strong financial modelling, analytical, and presentation development skills.Proven ability to manage risk, overcome challenges, and deliver results in a matrixed organisation.
