This role provides dedicated business facing second line compliance support to a portfolio of areas within WIB, including WIB and FM transformation and other projects, FM Regulatory Execution desk, the WIB Digital Program (including Data X), the Economics team and Compliance Operations within WIB/TSY and B&W Compliance.
The Senior Compliance Manager provides compliance advice, insights and effective review and challenge to promote a rigorous, forward looking and practical approach to compliance risk management across the portfolio.
Additional accountabilities include:
Drive a best practice approach to compliance risk management, including conflicts management.Facilitate face to face training to address regulatory and business requirements.Complete project and BAU compliance activities, including:Participation in and providing test and challenge at project working group and oversight forums.Creation and review of project artefacts.Participation in the Product Approval Committee process.Advising on domestic and global regulatory change impacting the portfolio.Provide relevant compliance advice, insight, oversight, review and challenge and monitoring over activities relating to the portfolio.Effectively and proactively identify and escalate compliance risks and issues to ensure they are dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner.Build effective working relationships with key business, risk, legal and compliance stakeholders.Communicate compliance advice clearly and concisely, adjusting for different audiences and situations.Work closely with Business Controls teams to identify and address compliance risks and issues. What do I need?
To be successful you will have the following:
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, Minimum of a Bachelor degree.Demonstrable years' experience in a Compliance, Risk or legal function within a banking and financial services firm or regulator.Good knowledge of the Australian regulatory environment relating to institutional banking, Financial markets and global derivatives regulation experience is preferred.Demonstrated experience in effectively interacting with stakeholders at all levels and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the projects, business and other support functions.Knowledge of compliance management practices and key standards.Capacity to operate in a complex and changing environment.Be comfortable in working with complexity and ambiguity.
