PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Lead a team of dedicated Project Management professionals responsible for delivering Power and Water's capital project portfolio, utilising industry-leading project management methodologies. This role will champion strong governance practices within the team and wider organisation, while continuously seeking opportunities to enhance project and program management approaches while delivering efficiencies through the employment of emerging technologies. As Senior Manager Delivery, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership and negotiation skills to drive successful outcomes. In this role you will collaborate closely with other senior PDM managers, key stakeholders across the organisation, external contractors, as well as the PWC Executive team and Board. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership and Team Management: Develop and lead a high performing team of project management professionals, setting clear performance expectations and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Act as an escalation point for project and program delivery issues, proactively driving resolution to achieve positive outcomes. Lead with financial acumen and political awareness ensuring decisions align with organisational objectives. Promote 'One Power and Water' in communication and collaboration with stakeholders, aligning team objectives with broader business vision. Provide expert leadership and direction to a team of project management professionals by articulating vision, identifying and mitigating strategic challenges for Power and Water to achieve corporate goals. Drive meaningful change in a dynamic environment with competing priorities, while fostering an adaptable and proactive team culture. Communicate to executive managers and negotiate positive outcomes in an environment of conflicting priorities and perspectives. Take ownership and accountability for driving meaningful and sustainable employee development, enhancing engagement, job satisfaction and long-term capability within the team. Develop and review performance plans (MyPlans) for direct reports ensuring alignment with career growth opportunities. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Communicate effectively with executive management, negotiating and navigating conflicting priorities to achieve favourable outcomes. Collaborate with People and Culture Business Partners to provide guidance and resolve employee relations issues, including those relating to EEO and WHS legislation. Project Management: Project Readiness: Collaborate with the Project Controls and Assurance team and Business Units to ensure project/program feasibility given budget and timelines. Project Execution Plan: Lead the delivery team in developing comprehensive project execution plans for major infrastructure projects, including resource allocation, budget management, risk mitigation, and milestone planning. Closure: Ensure project closure activities for all projects in PDM are completed accurately and according to governance standards. Schedule and Planning: Oversee the development of detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines. Embed a culture of high project delivery standards, driving adherence to PDM processes and fostering continuous improvement. Delivery Oversight: Lead the overall management of project delivery, ensuring quality, adherence to project plans, and efficient resource utilisation. Evaluate and manage variation requests, considering their impact on project scope, schedule, and budget, and making informed decisions to maintain project alignment. SELECTION CRITERIA: Qualification and Skills Experience: Essential: Project management or other relevant qualifications including Bachelor's degree/Master's Degree in Project Management or similar. Significant demonstrated experience providing leadership and oversight to a large portfolio of concurrently executed projects and programs. A minimum of 8 years of experience within a project management environment delivering medium to large infrastructure capital projects >$5m. Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or other recognised project certifications. In-depth knowledge and application of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Evidence of guiding a team within a recognised structured portfolio/program methodology that has delivered clear evidence-based business benefits. Exceptional communication and engagement skills and ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders. Proven ability to negotiate positive outcomes in a changing environment, and with stakeholders who have competing priorities. Desirable: Managing Successful Programs/Management of Portfolios Qualification. Experience leading the delivery of significant capital projects within the utilities industry. Knowledge of Northern Territory Government procedures and standard work practices. A bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
