– AHP4Ongoing Part-Time – working 22.5 hours per week About the Role:The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Northern Adelaide Geriatric Service to make a real difference in the lives of older people.
This position will hold line management responsibilities of the allied health teams across inpatient areas including ACE, GEM and Geriatric-Rehabilitation.
They will work closely with the Nurse Unit Managers in providing a cohesive management alliance and ensuring a strong sense of team is built within these areas.
The Senior Manager is one of two senior managers within Northern Adelaide Geriatrics Service.The Northern Adelaide Geriatrics Service provides: Older Persons Emergency Review and Assessment (OPERA) UnitInpatient Geriatrics: ACE Unit (26 beds) GEM Unit (24 beds) & Geriatric Rehabilitation Unit (20 beds)Northern Reablement and Intermediate Care to Return Home (NRICH)Geriatrics in the Home service – virtual community 'beds'Community GeriatricsTransitional Care ProgramCare Awaiting PlacementNorthern Aged Care Assessment TeamContinuing Care Team The Senior Managers are responsible for managing key element (s) of the NAGS operations.
In particular, the Senior Managers will take overall leadership for one or more of the following elements: Transitional Care Program (TCP)Allied Health services within the inpatient wards and community services, including ACE, GEM, Geriatric-Rehabilitation, NRICH, OPERA The Senior Manager: Leads and provides operational advice on major functions of allied health within Geriatric servicesHas responsibility for the development and promotion of the Geriatrics service, its involvement in teaching research and education, and the development of a range of strategic alliances and networks.Provides leadership and management across Geriatrics as a member of the NAGS Management Team and is a senior clinician within NALHN.Has a significant contribution to corporate goals such as strategic workforce and service development and professional practice across Geriatrics.Is responsible for the overall operation of a key geriatrics service including outcome assessments, quality assurance activities, service development and evaluation, recruitment and operational management of multidisciplinary staff, and outcomes specified under funding arrangements and policies.Is responsible for the management of the multidisciplinary allied health team of staff within the inpatient Geriatrics teams, including recruitment, clinical supervision and professional development support and other Human Resources processes.Holds direct clinical report for the ACE, GEM, Geriatric-Rehabilitation, NRICH or OPERA Geriatric allied health teams.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification for one of the following Allied Health disciplines working in the service, specifically: Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia.Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification, usually in human movements, inclusive of the exercise physiology elective and eligible for accreditation from Exercise Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
