Senior Manager, Growth & Governance (working title)Posted: 13/09/2024
Newly created from growth + succession for more senior rolesSub-executive, hands on role, make an impact in the communityMix of strategy, commercial, governance, finance, complianceYour New Company
One of Perth's most proud not for profit organisations serving the community for nearly 100 years! The company has accumulated an incredible asset base, delivers on its mission, and is currently undergoing a transformation and accelerating efficiencies through growth via mergers, acquisitions, and organic growth. Scaling for this growth, ensuring good governance, proper reporting, and accurate financial information are essential during this period of expansion. Due to the strategic plan being executed, additional talent is required! The company embraces flexible working, outstanding benefits beyond salary sacrificing, and the opportunity to make a real difference in Western Australia.

Your New Role
Serving as 2IC to the Chief Corporate Development Officer, you will be directly supporting everything they do. This includes business development opportunities (acquisitions, expansion, development), driving policy and compliance (governance, internal + external compliance to ASIC), strategy execution (maximise revenue, minimise costs, design service models, ensure sustainable outcomes, with outstanding customer service and safety for all). You will also support the company secretary with governance responsibilities and stay current with all relevant laws and regulations.

Put another way, you will be involved in strategic planning, target identification and evaluation for acquisitions, financial due diligence (and 3-statement financial modelling for valuations), support negotiations, support deal structuring (tax effectiveness and any debt/capital to be raised), regulatory compliance, post merger integration planning and execution, corporate governance, compliance, corporate communications (to staff, customers, board, and other parties), record keeping / policy documentation, and be the custodian of the existing company financial model.

You will regularly be in direct contact with a variety of stakeholders including the CEO, CFO, CCO, COO, operational business unit leaders, industry bodies, customers, government officials, banks, lawyers, advisers, and more. As a broad role, you will touch on nearly every department of the company.

Your Profile
Fortunately, to make a difference, you don't need to have everything on your CV, but you will be able to run the corporate finance model and due diligence for M&A transactions. You will have superb formal writing skills in order to update policies, procedures, and complete forms for compliance for ASIC and other bodies, plus board packs and supporting the CoSec office. You can thrive in a broad role where no two days are the same and pivot quickly between activities. You have the highest ethical and professional standards and a genuine desire to work for a worthy cause. You have a customer service focus, literally when dealing with actual customers, but also towards your key stakeholders you are supporting. You have excellent business acumen, likely gained in highly commercial environments, and want to put it to good use in a not for profit setting.

Your Benefits
Salary to be discussed depending on your level of experience and relevance - circa $130-150k+Superannuation
Salary Sacrificing available as a not for profit employer
Company paid car (EV, Hybrid, Petrol)
Free On-Site Parking (as available)
Flexible working arrangements to be agreed (generally 1-2 days WFH acceptable - just get your work done and hit all deadlines)
Full time role with likely career progression in ~3 years time.

Your Application
Please apply today for consideration, shortlisting and interviewing are due to commence 1st week of October so do not delay in making your application. Please do include a brief cover letter (1 page maximum, please) highlighting your relevant fit and why you would like to work in a NFP environment - your "why" counts equally with your skills/experience in this instance and will separate you from other applicants. This is a newly created role due to increased growth/workload in the company, so it is vacant and ready to start as soon as practical. Your application will be reviewed by Eric Macias (08) 6141 3200, and evaluated after the King's birthday holiday. Work rights in Australia are essential for shortlisting, and the ability to pass a national police check, and positive professional references checks will be required prior to being appointed. We expect an efficient 2 stage interview process from shortlisting.
