The team sits within Financial Services (FS) and collaborates closely with senior leaders across the Bank. The team is responsible for internal & external reporting of climate-related commitments, sustainability funding and pricing framework development, measurement of our financed emissions, strategy development (including emerging areas such as natural capital), governance of key environmental & social activity across the Group, uplifting climate capabilities, and delivering climate scenario analysis.The E&S Data team works closely with business and technology stakeholders and the rest of the Group E&S team to define and deliver an E&S data strategy across the Group.See yourself in our teamThis role reports to the Executive Manager Environmental and Social Data Strategy and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day requirements of the E&S Data Strategy Program, including setting up and tracking of initiatives and ensuring data management activities are complete.You will work towards defining and developing the Group's data requirements and strategy for climate-related information, with an initial focus on data management practices and principles. As part of your role, you will proactively drive key initiatives, working closely with a complex group of stakeholders to lead and navigate change. This role will drive both enhancements to climate reporting data (including technology & infrastructure) and enhancements of the climate data control environment.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the end-to-end management of the Environmental and Social Data Strategy program, including ensuring delivery against timelines, and tracking, monitoring and reporting of existing environmental and social initiatives across the Group.Develop and drive the end-to-end data management requirements, including formal documentation of processes, risks and controls from a data perspective, documentation of any identified issues or incidents, and completion of associated actions for the team.Partner with a number of stakeholders including source system owners & business units to define critical & key climate data elements and requirements.Work with the Environmental and Social reporting team to understand, document, and translate their data requirements into key actions and initiatives across the Group.Drive implementation or uplift of existing/new controls and support the business units in enhancing their control environments for climate-related disclosures.Drive adherence to the risk & control framework and data management implementation framework, including partnering with stakeholders across the group to uplift existing processes, building data management practices across ESG data and developing a strong governance framework.Support the annual external assurance process for our Climate Report, internal audit scope and any required framework reviews.Support the evolution of the Group's Environmental and Social data strategy, including sourcing approaches for data, architecture solutions development and prioritisation of key initiatives.Prepare materials and papers for key stakeholders and the program steering committee.We're interested in hearing from people who value transferable skills such as:Ability to deliver challenging tasks, build new processes and a desire to solve business problems, evidenced by experience in driving complex initiatives in a dynamic environment.Comfort working with a level of ambiguity and ability to independently manage deliverables.Strong project management and time management skills to support the development, monitoring and tracking of key environmental data initiatives across the group.Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in an easy to understand manner.The ability to assess and propose solutions to business problems and translate business requirements into initiatives with clear objectives and a clear definition of done.A strong understanding of data management practices and principles, including data quality management and data lineage.Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.Previous experience with systems implementation, banking processes and/or banking products will be highly regarded.Experience working in a risk, finance or climate reporting team within the financial services sector will be highly regarded.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications specifically Excel and PowerPoint.Dedicated team player with a passion to contribute to a strong and vibrant team culture.Strong interest in and knowledge of climate-related data and frameworks would be a nice to have.Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline (e.g. data, finance, business) with post graduate qualification highly desirable.
