DescriptionBetashares is seeking an accomplished and motivated professional to lead the Middle Office function across analytics and reporting activities. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this pivotal role will drive the development of the function as we continue to evolve our operating model and products.
As the leader of the Middle Office function, you will work closely with Portfolio Management in supporting front office activities including risk management, performance tracking, investment analytics, and investment compliance whilst improving processes and systems for better efficiency.
You will also work closely with other areas within the business where appropriate for investment and related regulatory reporting. You will play a critical role in vendor relationship management across both data and system providers.
Role ResponsibilitiesDevelop, document and maintain the strategy and business model for the Analytics & Reporting Middle Office function.Assess the investment data requirements across the business and optimise data usage.Manage existing vendors and identify future vendors against the business needs (data and systems).Support the expansion of risk reporting (stress testing, liquidity testing) and attribution reporting across our managed accounts and Super products (CPS 532).Maintain the compliance rule library, approve and validate compliance rules with Portfolio Management and Compliance.Ensure correct delivery of fund data to support sales materials including factsheets and website data feeds.Analytics and reporting for our ETFs, model portfolios, and superannuation offerings.Work with our digital transformation team in building out the data strategy and reporting capability for investment data.Delivery of investment and regulatory reporting for research houses and delivery of regulatory reporting for ASIC/APRA.Support ad-hoc queries from Portfolio Management, Investment Strategy & Research and Sales.Identify system and process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.Actively participating in project working groups.Project management of the operational aspects of new process development.Development and execution of robust testing practices around change activity.Review of resourcing requirements, staff development and management. Skills & ExperienceTertiary qualifications in finance, mathematical or related studies (CFA is desirable).Experience working in asset management or financial services organisations.Experience working across finance and investment data (datasets and databases) across equities and fixed interest.Experience with applying SQL, coding (Python, VB) and PowerBI.Experience with performance, attribution and risk models.Experience with investment guideline limits and pre and post trade compliance.Experience with front and middle office technologies and analytics tools.Experience with data vendor management.Demonstrated ability to work with others at all levels to solve complex business problems.Collaborative team player with the ability to drive stakeholder buy-in and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives.Strong ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.Demonstrated experience with change management and documentation.
