Our opportunity As Senior Management Accountant, you will support the Commercial & Mixed Use Development business to achieve financial performance goals, deliver on strategy and create an efficient and effective business by reviewing, interpreting and accurately modelling feasibilities in our forecasting system (Anaplan), assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process, application of technical financial accounting knowledge and producing monthly management reporting and commentary as required.
In this role you will be responsible for: Business PartneringEngaging with development teams through forecasting process, acting in partnership and 'QA' capacity in advance of final submission for Anaplan modelling.Partner with Development teams through approval processes (AP / ACC) to review feasos and papers from a finance perspective, liaise with Group Finance / FP&A for relevant inputs and regularly engage with divisional/group finance teams to ensure project-level information meets requirements. PeopleSupporting the whole C&MU Team with BI reports either tailoring or creating specific reports and working closely with the Finance Managers from asset classes within C&MU (C&MU, BTR / Industrial) to ensure consistent development of the team.
You will foster close collaboration with the Group Finance functions and Investments Finance Team. StrategySupporting the Finance Manager in execution of the strategy by providing analysis and insights to support informed decision making. Business Unit PlanningSupport the budgeting and forecasting process for commercial & mixed use projects by partnering with the development teams, reviewing key assumptions, ensuring accounting outcomes have been considered, modelling in Anaplan and reporting at a project and portfolio level the base and new business (C&MU) budget / forecasts.Work closely with investments & funds team for provision of information for IPUC forecasts. Business Unit PerformanceAccountable for managing all aspects of project feasibilities including project financial performance, key accounting considerations and operational maintenance.Reconciliation of project forecast to general ledger actuals and ensure completeness of data within project feasibilities.Perform project level budgeting and forecasting for developments, including modelling of feasibilities into Anaplan (including accounting adjustments and actuals true-ups). Reporting & AnalysisSupport Investor Relations in provision of information at statutory reporting periods (such as investor presentations, market updates and property compendium).Prepare project financial performance reports (monthly, quarterly, half yearly), validate the numbers and provide insightful commentary to explain performance.
This includes reporting on project financial KPIs and at portfolio level.Assist in the management of overheads for C&MU through the provision of timely reporting and analysis.Prepare project new business and scenario analysis, and conduct ad hoc scenario modelling and analysis where required for other projects.Prepare financial reporting submissions for external capital partners / investors and supporting financial analysis as required, including responding to ad hoc queries and requests for information.Contribute to continuous process and reporting improvements within forecasting and business intelligence systems and identify opportunities and support the automation of Project Accounting processes.Ensure robust and reliable controls are in place.
Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve financial management processes to ensure efficient, transparent and effective processes. Cashflow and capital managementWork collaboratively with development teams to ensure robust cashflow management and forecasting in place, building an improved focus on cashflow outcomes for the division.
Ensure strong understanding of cash and capital impacts of all major decisions and investments and projects in delivery. Your point of difference To be successful, you will be CA/CPA qualified with prior finance experience, ideally in property development.
You will have well-developed analytical and problem solving skills, and excellent communication skills to liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
Strong Excel capability, technical accounting and structuring skills are a must.
You will also possess a clear capability to lead, motivate, manage and mentor finance team members.
