Senior Legal Counsel - Privacy

Our client is on a pivotal transformation journey, with a focus on placing customers at the heart of everything it does. An opportunity has arisen for commercial lawyer with a passion for Privacy Law and high levels of commercial acumen to assist the organisation's legal function by providing strategic and commercially focused legal support with a specific focus on data privacy.As part of a collaborative, customer focused in-house Legal team and reporting to a dynamic and supportive Chief Legal, Risk and Compliance Officer, you will impact and assist in providing data privacy and general commercial advice to support the business' transformation and modernisation. In this high impact role, you will support a culture of integrity and compliance and you will partner with the business to provide commercially focused legal solutions and advice.You will be a highly adaptable lawyer with seven plus years' experience with strong knowledge of data privacy laws and in particular the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) or the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), ideally gained within a top tier or boutique environment and in-house. In addition, you will have demonstrable experience building strong stakeholder relationships and solving complex legal problems in a simple and practical manner.
