About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Legal (Food), this is an exciting role which offers a wide variety of commercial legal work, including support and advice to our Food & Liquor business pillars.
***This role can be considered Part time (4 days per week)***

In this Role Provide legal advice and support for matters affecting the Metcash food & liquor pillars, including; Transactional: joint ventures, store acquisitions and disposals, commercial contracts (retailers, suppliers, service providers), property, technology and data, intellectual property, credit, financing and security arrangements with retailers Disputes and Investigations: litigation, disputes, insolvency/debt recovery, regulatory investigations Advisory and Compliance - providing legal advice in relation to areas of law and compliance obligations (existing and new) affecting Metcash Food and Liquor (e.g.
competition and consumer law, privacy, product safety, quality and labelling and liquor licensing) Supporting implementation of compliance frameworks and processes for compliance obligations (existing and new) You're Likely a Match If LLB (or equivalent); Current NSW practicing certificate is essential 5+ years PQE in private practice and/or in-house roles Excellent contract, transactional and general commercial legal skills Knowledge of the legal and regulatory landscape in Australia (and other jurisdictions, as applicable) in relation to areas of law and compliance obligations affecting Metcash Food and Liquor (new and existing) Solution focussed mindset with ability to make sound judgement calls balancing risk and commercial objectives Solid influential skills with the ability to engage, collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ability to manage competing priorities and demanding workflow.
