About the role A 8-10+ PQE lawyer with a sound knowledge of workplace relations and demonstrated litigation experience is sought for this autonomous, senior part-time role. Reporting to an experienced and supportive General Counsel, you will join a lean legal team and handle a broad range of matters with an emphasis on workplace relations matters and dispute resolution.
Our client has a preference for a 3 or 4 day per week arrangement with the possibility of increasing to a full-time role in the future. As Senior Legal Counsel, your key responsibilities will include:
Co-ordinating and driving all aspects of dispute resolution with a focus on workplace related issues (employment, IR and work health and safety) Assisting with the management of litigation in other areas such as personal injury and discrimination Advising the wider business on workplace relations matters Drafting, reviewing and advising on employment contracts, industrial and enterprise agreements and workplace related policies Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts with clients and suppliers Advising on modern slavery and other legal issues Managing external counsel About you You will be a workplace relations lawyer with at least 8-10 years' experience obtained with a reputable law firm and preferably in-house.
Experience in litigation or dispute resolution is essential. Strong negotiating and commercial drafting skills are required.
You will be a confident and clear communicator who is able to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Excellent interpersonal skills.
A commercially aware candidate with a pragmatic, practical approach and a down to earth approach is sought
