We are seeking a talented and motivated individual who can provide high-level legal advice on general legal issues including but not limited to contract interpretation, negotiation and drafting; intellectual property; litigation and disputes to executives and staff of the department. The role provides leadership and direction in legal aspects of commercial matters, including undertaking commercial negotiations.
Essential requirements for this position:
A degree in law and admitted to legal practice in Western Australia.
Substantial knowledge and relevant experience in the provision of in-house legal counsel (public or private), including in relation to litigation matters.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in commercial or contract law and statutory interpretation, including the ability to negotiate complex commercial matters and draft legal documents.
Sound knowledge and understanding of the parliamentary and legislative process.
