We are now excited to invite applications for Senior Legal Counsel for a 12-month Contract opportunity in our Melbourne office.
What your typical day will look like: As a Senior Legal Counsel at dentsu Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), you'll be instrumental in delivering, managing, and supporting legal work across the entire organization to ensure compliance, foster sustainable growth and safeguard dentsu's interests. Collaborating seamlessly across all business units and service lines, your role is integral to establishing and maintaining a robust legal framework and to support a client centric way of working.
Other responsibilities include: Drafting, negotiating, and advising on diverse commercial agreements, supporting compliance, governance, contracts, IP, and data privacy as well as aiding in mergers and acquisitions integration. Assisting the Legal Team in training, legal risk management, and cost-effective handling of disputes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Collaborating with global legal teams, aligning ANZ legal and compliance activities with global and regional directions. A bit about you: 5-6 years of post-qualification experience with knowledge of key legal principles relating to contracts, IP, data privacy, SAAS/technology implementation, drafting, negotiating. Proven experience advising on commercial agreements plus familiarity with GDPR and other overseas regulatory regimes and their application within a commercial, digital environment. Experience in risk management and helping manage data governance and compliance programmes, including the drafting of policies and procedures. Experience of interaction with management levels of a business and a demonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to manage competing priorities within a diverse workload and should have a collaborative attitude essential to working in a small, well-coordinated team (industry experience in the media, creative or technology sectors and data/product development experience would be a plus but is not a pre-requisite).
