Senior Legal Counsel - Corporate Lawyer - FMCG/ Consumer Law

Opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join this prestigious brand named, ASX listed organisation in a business critical role.
Reporting into the General Counsel and Company Secretary, this role will provide practical, comprehensive, and commercially focused legal services and solutions to the business.

This is a newly created role in an organisation experiencing substantial core growth due to acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

Assisting with M&A transactionsAdvising on consumer law issues and disputesReviewing and drafting commercial contracts with suppliers including leases, dealer agreements and supply/services agreementsAdvising on privacy mattersAdvising on governance issues and implementing governance projects across all areas of ESGAdvising on corporate law, Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules mattersAdvising on employment mattersSupporting the risk and compliance function and implementing control measuresImproving the delivery of legal services to the business and providing support to junior lawyers

Experience and skills required:8+ years post qualification experience with in-house legal experience as well as a strong law firm background as a Corporate/ Commercial LawyerAdvanced knowledge of commercial, contracts, consumer, privacy, procurement and property lawASX listed experience desirableAbility to understand and troubleshoot complex commercial legal and regulatory problems, consult with relevant stakeholders, and propose practical solutionsSenior stakeholder management skills including internal as well as with external Vendors/ PartnersStrong collaborative, organisational and project management abilities
