(Level C) $135,388 – $155,696 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation Food and Nutrition Science Academic Continuing position The School of Agriculture, Food and Wine is offering an exciting opportunity for a leader in Food Science and Nutrition to join our academic team.
The appointee will lead the development of innovative undergraduate courses in Food Science to equip future generations of learners with the knowledge and skills required for industry and society.
In this rare continuing teaching and research role, the appointee will also have the opportunity to develop research projects of such a scope and scale that ensures trans-disciplinary collaboration across research groups, as well as significant industry and government engagement.
The successful candidate will also encourage an environment of creativity and innovation in the Faculty and engage with the broader academic and professional community to promote and enhance the national and international profile of the University.
We are seeking dynamic individuals with strong teaching and research backgrounds who are keen to make a positive difference in Food Science for future generations.
The School of Agriculture, Food and Wine is one of several Schools in the Faculty of SET, and represents a world-class concentration of scientific research, education, and product conferring capability, with infrastructure and resources at the Waite Campus of the University of Adelaide.
To be successful at Level C you will need:A PhD in Food Science or a related disciplineAn outstanding national record of research distinction and impact in Food Science, with an emphasis on having delivered outcomes leading to resilience and/or enhanced sustainability measures.Evidence of an inspirational leadership style that promotes a culture of engagement, collaboration, commitment, and exceptional performance.Evidence of contributions in developing and successfully implementing research programs of significant scope and scale.Demonstrated ability to secure research investment from national/international competitive agencies.Demonstrated ability to forge meaningful external relationships with relevant industry stakeholders and professional bodies.Evidence of excellence in providing research training at the postgraduate level.Excellent personal and interpersonal skills, highly effective written and oral communication skills, and capacity to work effectively across the University community.Enjoy an outstanding career environment The University of Adelaide is a uniquely rewarding workplace.
