The Faculty of Health is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. This role will specifically be working within the School of Psychology.
About the role: This position is suited to a person with an emerging record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.Lead unit and course teaching teams and work collaboratively with other teaching teams in the faculty to develop effective unit/courses curricula and learning materials (including through course leadership roles). Lead review of units and courses and implement refinements.Integrate industry, clinical and/or research practice into unit/course design to improve student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.Lead the development and/or adoption of new innovation in curriculum design within a course and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.Design collaborative learning opportunities at the course level. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive unit and course material and practices.Develop effective assessment tasks and rubrics at unit and course level. Provide clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes. Lead moderation of assessment tasks at course level and adapt practices to improve learning outcomes.As a Senior Lecturer, Education-focused, you will: Make a significant contribution to pedagogy research projects and demonstrate a disciplinary reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research.Make significant advances in knowledge within the specific fields/areas of teaching scholarship and pedagogical research activity in the scholarship of teaching and educational development through independent contribution to pedagogical research activity.Contributing to research and publication in learning and teaching, including testing the effectiveness of innovations designed to improve student and graduate outcomes including graduate employment.Contribute to the development of citizenship activities and effectiveness at university level.Lead the implementation of specific aspects of the strategic agenda through faculty or school committees.To be successful, you'll have: Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.PhD in a relevant discipline and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area.Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in PG clinical or professional psychology programs, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision, using different ways of engaging with students (lectures, seminars, workshops, intensives) and different methods of delivery (face-to-face and online).Evidence of leadership in scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate and/or post graduate programs, including innovative curriculum design and education development.University wide reputation in the scholarship of learning and teaching underpinned by publications in quality journals and/or conference presentations and/or success in obtaining funding for education innovation.Here's how to apply: To be eligible to apply, you must currently be a sessional academic at Deakin or have been previously engaged as a sessional academic at Deakin within the last two years of the advertising date.
