We are seeking a Senior Lecturer to join Carumba Institute, Indigenous Strategy, Chancellery Division.
The position will provide academic leadership to a diverse team, facilitating excellence in teaching and research, working collaboratively across key areas and academic responsibilities of the Carumba Institute.The Carumba Institute advances Black Knowing for real world research impact, foregrounding Indigenous sovereignty and centering an Indigenous humanity.

The Carumba Institute plays a pivotal role in the implementation of QUT's Indigenous Australian Research Strategy (2022-2025). The strategy focuses on building and supporting Indigenous Australian research excellence and innovation with the goal of delivering transformative research. This will be achieved through, growing a critical mass of Indigenous Australian researchers, building a world-class Indigenous Australian research environment, building Indigenous Australian research capacity across the university, and strengthening engagement with Indigenous Australian communities..
What you need to succeed Completion of a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation in Indigenous studies or any related field which has an application to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, knowledges, communities. Experience in developing and maintaining a research program as demonstrated by high-quality publications, success in attracting research funding, effective engagement in research projects, and successful supervision of research students. Experience and/or understanding of the Australian Higher Education sector as it pertains to Indigenous Higher Education policy and programs. Demonstrated awareness of contemporary global trends in the field of Indigenous Studies and the ability to embed innovative approaches to research, teaching, and learning. Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with an (interdisciplinary) team of academic colleagues, and engagement with industry stakeholders to enhance teaching and research performance.
