Remuneration: Level C from $145,071 to $166,436 per annum plus 17% Superannuation; Level D from $179,630 to $197,312 per annum plus 17% Superannuation

Why Your Role Matters:
The School of Science is one of six schools at UNSW Canberra and consists of six disciplines: Aviation, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, and Oceanography. There is an exciting opportunity for you to join our school as the Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Stratospheric Physics.
In this dynamic role, you will assume the position of Station Director at the Balloon Launching Station in Alice Springs NT, working with stakeholders from CSIRO, NASA, and other space agencies. The stratospheric balloon flights take place periodically from the site. This position blends research and education, where you'll contribute to course and curriculum delivery and cultivate a vibrant research portfolio. As a key player, you'll craft publications, guide students, and drive grant applications while embracing opportunities to make meaningful contributions in both academia and research.
Who You Are (skills and experience):
Our ideal candidate will have:
A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience. Demonstrated aptitude in the field of Atmospheric physics, electronics, and stratospheric ballooning. Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments. Capability to contribute to and build on the School's research and teaching. Ability to manage large scale projects including contract negotiations, tender evaluations, risk and budget plans. An Associate Professor (Level D) plays a key role in leading and advancing outstanding research at national and international levels. Benefits and Culture:
