The role GPT is currently looking for a Senior Lease Administration Manager to join our Sydney retail leasing team.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Senior Lease Administration Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficient and accurate management of retail leases, related transaction documents and formal legal notices. This includes handling all aspects from the issuance of initial commercial documentation/letters of offer through to the execution and finalisation of formal legal documents and legal notices such as non-renewal notices and consent to sublease.
You will work closely with the Leasing department and external solicitors to maintain compliance and manage risk associated with legal contracts related to our portfolio of retail assets. The role also drives the development and implementation of policies and procedures to optimise team processes. You will lead a small team of lease administrators/leasing assistants, providing direction, support and professional development to enhance team performance and effectiveness.
What you will be doing Leading, mentoring and developing a team of lease administrators, providing guidance, support and training to enhance their skills and performance. Managing external solicitor turnaround times, with amendment negotiations and reports completed in a timely manner and in accordance with our Professional Services Agreement. Making decisions and providing guidance on intricate lease issues and developing solutions to resolve escalated lease administration problems. Driving complex lease negotiations and assisting in finalising national precedent positions with core retail partners. Preparing all lease related documentation and assisting with the collection of all documentation prior to tenants opening for trade. Assisting in reviewing, updating and embedding the Limits of Authority (LOA) and various policies, ensuring compliance across the retail business. Collaborating with our external solicitors when changes in the relevant retail legislation are affected, understanding their impact to our business and assisting in reviewing and updating internal template and precedent documents to ensure compliance. Monitoring and analysing key performance metrics related to lease administration, providing insights to the Team Leader, Lease Administration and other relevant stakeholders. Overseeing assigned project work/developments, ensuring time critical dates are monitored and conditions precedents met. What makes you stand out You would ideally bring significant experience in a comparable retail lease administration role with exposure in negotiating retail leases and managing the related transaction documents with national and international tenant groups, along with experience managing a team.
Experience in project leasing or development would be highly valued.
You will need excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders and an intermediate level proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products as well as Salesforce, SAP are key to your success.
