As a Senior Lawyer, Privacy & Data, you are to provide quality, commercially astute and timely legal advice to ANZ stakeholders in an efficient and pro-active manner. Your advice will primarily relate to the integration of Norfina Limited (formerly known as Suncorp-Metway Ltd.) into the ANZ Group including, for example: privacy compliance, legal data protection reviews, privacy policy and consent drafting and management, open banking, use of generative artificial intelligence tools, data incident response management and design, and data protection agreements. Whatever your role at ANZ, you'll be building your future, while helping to build ours. Role Type: 12-month contract, Full Time Role Location: Melbourne or Sydney What will your day look like? You will experience a variety of challenging work, including innovative approaches to integration involving artificial intelligence and creating repeatable, commercially viable and sustainable legal templates (such as data protection agreements) and advice. You will frequently partner with other enablement functions including other parts of the Legal Team, Privacy Risk and other risk colleagues, Procurement, Compliance and Technology to provide privacy-related legal advice and negotiate compliant agreements with ANZ's suppliers. The Privacy & Data Legal Team performs as a "centre of excellence" to support matters that have an ANZ-wide impact across multiple divisions. While much of the work is Australia based, ANZ operates in multiple jurisdictions and has operating entities all around the world, and the team supports with matters globally. Your work may reflect this operating model. You will be involved in supporting enablement functions leading implementation of integration projects. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Have more than 5 years Post Qualification Experience in data and privacy. We are interested in attracting a diverse range of candidates for this role, including early and later career applicants. Have experience in some, if not all, of the relevant specialties including privacy compliance, legal data protection reviews, privacy policy and consent drafting and management, and open data/banking. Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Be excellent at time management with a demonstrated track record of managing challenging workloads (so be comfortable prioritising your work with your manager's support!). Strength as a trusted adviser, capable of initiating, building and maintaining effective relationships across a range of disciplines and situations. Be a practical, analytical person who is able to articulate legal risks clearly and concisely who is outcomes focused. Some additional skills for this role which will be viewed favourably include: Experience in a regulated industry such as financial services. Have outstanding drafting and negotiation skills, especially in the context of technology and other procurement contracts. Enjoy the benefits of collaborating with diverse colleagues.
