$130,042 per annum + superannuationFull Time, Fixed Term Position (Until 15th May 2026)Geelong headquarters (Hybrid - 3 days in the office)About the role As the Claims Specialist, you will play a key role within our Claims Division to provide technical expertise to Agents focusing on entitlements, return to work and quality decision making.
This role will be primarily responsible for overseeing and improving the performance at the second entitlement review period (130 week) and will support other projects within the branch and division.
Key accountabilities Provides leadership in the technical application of the Act and its interpretation to Agents.Recommends strategic directions for area of responsibility and considers wider agency implications when making decisions.Makes recommendations for improvement to processes or policy identified through data and maintains data management systems.Contributes to the broader activities such as cross-team and cross-divisional activities and backs up other branch members as required.Coordinates and participates in claim reviews and/or health checks with Agents.Technical understanding and current operational claims management experience.About you You are an experienced weekly compensations specialist, who has strong analytical ability, attention to detail along with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Additionally, you possess the following skills and experience:
Technical understanding of the processes surrounding legislative statutory entitlements.Expertise in the knowledge of the Accident Compensation Act 1985 and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.Expertise in reviewing and analysing claim forms, medical, occupational rehabilitation and investigation reports.Expertise in the management of stakeholder issues, and the ability to provide positive solutions to issues as these arise and the ability to address systemic issues.Expertise in the management of complex claims and advanced knowledge of the WorkSafe computer systems (ACCtion/Novus).What's next?
