The Senior Lawyer will play an integral role in supporting the organisation to be an effective regulator which has legally sound processes, is procedurally fair to all with obligations under the Scheme and makes prudent, risk-based decisions.
About us The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. About the role The Authority is seeking an experienced lawyer to work on a diverse range of matters within its growing team. The diverse work ensures that a career with the Authority is interesting, challenging and fulfilling.
Reporting to the Managing Principal Lawyer, the Senior Lawyer will play a crucial role in providing practical, technically sound legal advice to all business units within the Authority.
You will develop relationships with internal stakeholders and deliver presentations in a way that is accessible and easy to understand.
