Senior Lawyer - Energy Projects

The Role Reporting to the General Manager Legal, the Senior Lawyer - Energy Projects is responsible as the lead projects lawyer in major business projects in development or reaching financial completion or projects during construction, commissioning and in operations including our gas firming and gas import project.
Key Responsibilities Legal lead on negotiation and drafting with respect to renewable energy project agreements and gas firming project agreements related to development, construction and/or operations.Squadron's LNG import terminal – agreements related to commissioning and operations of the terminal.Assist with other significant business contracts and projects being undertaken by the business.Provide practical and strategic commercial legal support across the Squadron Energy business based on a sound understanding of the business' goals and commercial drivers.Advising and presenting to senior management on matters requiring business approval.Assist in identifying and managing key legal risks for the group.Instruct and efficiently manage the use of external lawyers.Contribute as a senior member of the legal team, with ability to develop into a team leader; provide motivation, encouragement and opportunities for development.About You You will have:
10+ years post admission experience in private practice or in-house in the energy sector.Experience drafting and negotiating project development, construction and operations contracts for energy projects.Experience advising on gas projects, operations, FSRU or LNG shipping, or LNG or gas sales agreements, or similar matters (relevant to our Port Kembla Energy Terminal).Tertiary qualifications in law with a current unrestricted practising certificate in Australia.What's on Offer In addition to a competitive remuneration package combined with attractive benefits, employees have the opportunity to access training and career development, and workplace flexibility.
