The Role We're recruiting for a Senior Associate / Special Counsel to join our Sensitive Claims team due to continued growth.
Manage your own files and work collaboratively with our partners, receiving on-going mentorship and support.
Our Health, Sensitive Claims and Insurance team represent health providers and facilities in NSW, offering legal advice on a broad range of matters, from straightforward to highly contentious, including nervous shock claims, breaches of consumer laws, and actions against healthcare practitioners and facilities, as well as historical abuse claims in an institutional setting.
Our clients include public hospitals, medical practitioners, allied healthcare professionals, health services and health and aged care facilities.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' PQE, as well as: Experience in or exposure to personal injuries claims work and/or sensitive claims Providing legal advice on defendant case matters is highly desirable Previous experience of managing and/or assisting a portfolio of claims Ability to handle large volumes of documents, providing clear advice within deadlines and understand how to manage competing priorities Demonstrated experience with New South Wales civil procedure Ability to thoroughly and sensitively review evidence in relation to liability and quantum issues Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Desire to grow and develop with our team to create great results An ability to build effective working relationships with clients Willingness to participate and enhance your business development skills In this role, you may be exposed to sensitive and delicate content.
Mental and emotional agility will be essential in being successful in this position.
You will be provided with Vicarious Trauma training, tools and resources to support your development in this area.
