We value flexibility, and all roles can be performed from any capital city in a state or territory or Townsville and are available on a full-time, part-time or job-share basis.

The key duties of the position include: Work individually, and with others, to identify, research and analyse relevant information, to draw evidence-based conclusions on complex competition issues, and make recommendations about next steps. Prepare high quality documents including papers, legal notices, voluntary and compulsory information requests, correspondence, reports, and briefs. Interview witnesses, complainants and/or market participants. Interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures. Engage, support, and work collaboratively with a range of other people, including marshalling expertise from lawyers, experts, and other ACCC branches to develop analysis. Keep accurate, thorough, and functional records, including by updating investigation management systems and reports in a timely manner. Finalise and present recommendations to ACCC Commissioners. Lead and provide direction and supervision to junior team members and contribute to their ongoing development, role modelling our leadership behaviours, supporting a professional and collaborative working environment, coaching, giving continuous feedback, resolving conflict and facilitating career development. In order to succeed in the role, you will have:
a qualification in investigations, law, economics, commerce, or similar fields. ability to work flexibly and effectively in a team during times of uncertainty and high pressure. demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills. experience conducting complex investigations or managing complex projects. demonstrated experience leading an investigating team or similar role in a fast-paced and large complex people-centred organisation. Getting to know the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission The ACCC is an independent statutory authority that administers the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other Acts. The ACCC works to promote effective competition and fair trading in the market place to benefit consumers, business and the community, and efficiency in the delivery of certain infrastructure services. The AER is a part of the ACCC. The AER is Australia's national energy market regulator and has an independent board. The AER shares employees, resources and facilities with the ACCC.
