Senior Internal Audit Manager - Technology We are currently assisting a well-regarded Big 4 Australian bank to source a Senior Internal Audit Manager to join their Internal Audit Team. This role is pivotal in forming the independent third line function of the bank's three lines of defence (3LOD) governance model. You will contribute to advancing the bank's audit and risk management capabilities, with a particular focus on technology, data, and automation.
What Will Your Day Look Like? In this role, you will:
Contribute to developing the annual Audit Plan and allocate resources based on the risk profile of various business areas. Plan, lead, and execute audit engagements in alignment with the annual Audit Plan and audit methodology. Review specific business areas, concentrating on technology, data, and automation processes. Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls to manage and mitigate risk. Deliver assurance through comprehensive audit reports supported by well-documented evidence. Collaborate with senior technology management, showcasing strong stakeholder engagement. Partner with management to develop solutions that bolster the control environment, mitigate risk exposures, and align with strategic business objectives, ensuring the interests of customers and stakeholders are protected. Your role will involve collaborating with the global IA team, leveraging your exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, and playing an instrumental role in building capability within the Internal Audit function.
What Will You Bring? To excel in this role, you should have:
Extensive experience with risk management frameworks, including operational risk, compliance, and delivery risk. Proven leadership experience managing large technology audit engagements and risk teams, with a focus on medium to high complexity and profile reviews. Alternatively, you might be a Technology Risk specialist with experience in a second or first line role, looking to put your subject matter expertise to use in an Internal Audit capacity. Technology risk management expertise and a strong background in the banking and finance industry. The ability to analyse complex business processes and deliver effective assurance, leveraging data for audit assessments. Preferably, experience auditing cloud-based environments and CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, experience conducting regulatory compliance audits would be well regarded. CISA certification would be helpful but not essential. Why should you join?
