Job Title: Intelligence OfficerDepartment: Other (Administration & Office Support)Government - State (Government & Defence)Responsibilities:Provide guidance and consultancy services to clients in the development and implementation of HCC's analytics and reporting solutions, including comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decisions.With guidance from the Principal Business Intelligence Specialist, support business intelligence and analytics initiatives by adhering to industry best practices, ensuring the delivery of consistent, accurate, and high-quality outcomes.Work closely with HCC services to translate business and operational reporting requirements into intuitive and visually compelling dashboards and reports using modern BI tools such as Power BI. Ensure that visualizations effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Support the Quality & Reporting workstream in the development and implementation of data model standards within the Health Contact Centre by proactively creating, reviewing, and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including standards, data dictionaries, and scripts.High level knowledge and working experience in developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions, data modeling, analytics, and reporting solutions:Current HCC reporting solutions include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Dynamics, Dataverse, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Snowflake, Microsoft Power BI (Desktop and Service).High level knowledge and working experience in querying, analyzing, and interpreting clinical and business information systems in a health context:Ability to write T-SQL queries using the serverless SQL pool in Azure Synapse Analytics.Ability to write SQL queries and have a good knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).Ability to extract data from large datasets, critically analyze, and transform it into insights and present it in a meaningful and professional manner.High level communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to liaise with people at all levels internal and external to the organization.Demonstrated ability to work independently, efficiently, and effectively participate as part of a cohesive team, utilize discretion, and maintain confidentiality at all times.Ability to prioritize workload effectively with excellent time management skills and perform duties responsibly in the absence of direct supervision.Qualifications, Registrations, and Other Requirements:Knowledge of information architecture, data modeling, and data quality with experience in developing and implementing governance policies, standards, and processes.Preferred experience with:Queensland Health Clinical and Administrative Information Systems.Experience working within Queensland Health system to collaborate on reporting/BI initiatives.Knowledge/experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and lake database.Data analytics tools: Power BI, Azure Synapse Workspace, SQL Server 2016 (SSRS, SSMS, SSAS), MS Excel.Programming languages such as Apache Spark, R, Python.How to Apply:Please provide the following information to the panel to assess your suitability:Your resume, including the names and contact details of two referees who have a thorough knowledge of your capabilities, work performance, and conduct within the previous two years, and it is preferable to include your current, immediate, or past supervisor.A short statement (maximum two pages) that gives details of your skills, experience, and knowledge as required on the role description under the heading 'key competencies (role specific criteria)'.About Queensland Health:Queensland Health is the state's largest healthcare provider.
