Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) is the principal contractor for Snowy Hydro's Snowy 2.0, Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. We bring the combined engineering expertise of three companies - Italy's Webuild (formerly Salini Impregilo), Australian-based Clough and US-based Lane Construction.
This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to this nation-building infrastructure project in a highly challenging role and unique environment. This position requires a team player and someone who thrives on a fast paced and varied role.
We are currently seeking an Senior IR Advisor to join our HR/IR Team based on site at either Lobs Hole / Tantangra / Marica site on a 14/7 FIFO or DIDO Roster. The successful applicant will lead the team of IR Advisors with dispute resolution by advising on workplace relations policies and problems. The Senior Industrial Relations (IR) Advisor is responsible for working collaboratively across the stakeholder groups, to ensure IR compliance for FGJV employees and subcontractors.
Purpose of the Role:

As an Senior IR advisor, you will coordinate a high-performing site based team to deliver timely, practical solutions to a wide variety of employee and industrial relations challenges. You will be responsible for providing guidance and support to managers, employees and team members on various employee relations matters across the Project sites. Your primary focus will be on promoting positive working relationships, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of legislation, common law, IR/HR policies and practices.

Qualifications and Experience:
Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resource Management, Employment Relations, Organisational Psychology, Law or relevant field
· Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial relations, preferably in the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and IR / HR policies and practices.
Proven experience in negotiating and resolving industrial disputes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Project Management experience - ability to plan, implement & manage longer term initiatives
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work across multiple site with a multi disciplined team
NSW Construction White Card
Detailed knowledge of the Fair Work Act
Ability to interpret Common Law Contracts, Awards and Enterprise Agreements, in particular the SC Hydro Pty Ltd AWU Tunnel and Associated Works Greenfield Agreement 2021 - 2025 and the SC Hydro Pty Ltd AWU and CFMMEU Surface Works Greenfield Agreement 2021 - 2025
Knowledge and understanding of the market and industrial climate the company operates.
Knowledge of legislative and economic environment as appropriate to the role (such as contract law and the construction industry).
Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills
Strong Initiative and proactive nature
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Well-developed time management skills
High attention to detail
Exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Provide IR advice including interpretation of relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements in relation to blue collar and white-collar workforce.
Liaison with Payroll team regarding application of industrial instruments and payroll queries.
Managing union right of entry to site and guidance of union officials while developing an effective relationship.
In-field first response to any industrial incident and/or action (in accordance with industrial risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans).
Coordinating subcontractor pre-qualification audits and mobilisation of personnel.
Ensuring compliance of subcontractors to all Project and contractual requirements.
Delivering training to management and other personnel on IR and HR topics.
Develop and implement policies and procedures across the project workforce.
Generating employment contracts and internal employee correspondence as required.
Ensuring compliance, provision of instruction, advice and support to personnel and management in the implementation of Project industrial systems including counselling/discipline, issue resolution, probation, return to work and performance evaluations.
Knowledge of Fair Work Act, industrial systems & structures and industrial agreement terms, conditions, & remuneration.
Identify emerging issues in a workplace and assist in developing strategies to mitigate risks.
Ability to liaise with all levels of a typical workforce and comfortable to interact with a range of issues.
Develop relationships with Project leaders and relevant external stakeholders.
