Job Description The Project ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney's third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project scope includes:
Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each directionCivil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnelsSurface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah FreewayIn line with the above, ACCIONA is now looking for a OMCS Incident Management System (IMS) Lead Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of the Incident Management System within the Operations Management and Control System (OMCS) framework. This senior role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the IMS meets the operational, safety, and functional requirements throughout the WHT project's delivery lifecycle, from design and development to testing, commissioning, and handover.
Specific Tasks Include Oversee the design and delivery of a robust Incident Management System aligned with WHT project standards and operational requirements.Develop and validate IMS control principles to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory specifications.Lead presentations, risk management discussions, and progress updates with key stakeholders, including TfNSW.Coordinate incident simulation exercises, system testing, and integration demonstrations.Manage and optimize IMS functionalities, including incident detection, response protocols, and redundancy processes.Ensure seamless IMS integration with SCADA systems, external vendor packages, and adjacent motorway systems.Prepare and review technical documentation, including functional specifications, system architecture diagrams, and test procedures.Oversee site readiness, equipment preparation, and commissioning activities.Strictly adhere to project deadlines and milestones, escalating delays with actionable mitigation strategies.Required Skills and Competencies Qualifications and Experience Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.Extensive experience in control systems, SCADA systems, and incident management for large-scale infrastructure projects.High proficiency with tools such as JIRA and LENS, as well as integration and change management systems.In-depth knowledge of TfNSW standards and requirements is highly desirable.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project success within tight timelines.ACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023 & 2024 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
