Details of the offer

The core capability requirements for this role are:Provide professional, confidential evidence-based short-term mental health services to employees as well as information and referral options and supplementary services as required.Provide professional advice to regional managers about the assessment, treatment, and workplace rehabilitation of individuals and work groups.Provide professional advice to all QPS employees as necessary on mental health, critical incident and stress management programs.Assist in the design, development and delivery of service-wide proactive mental health programs and provide education and training to employees and managers on preventing and managing mental health issues.Lead the provision of Psychological First Aid (PFA) in accordance with service-wide policy; promote the benefits of utilising PFA principles; and coordinate the provision of PFA support services.Select, train, develop, support, review and manage the Region/Command/Division's Peer Support Officers.Actively participate in the 24-hour on-call emergency response service roster, respond to after hours on-call incidents as required and provide an appropriate psychological/organisational response, which may include attending a location to support members.Maintain professional case notes in accordance with relevant professional codes of ethics, ensuring appropriate and secure storage of these materials. Participate in client and stakeholders' feedback initiatives and provide feedback on policies as required. Role Requirements:Mandatory: Registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia or hold a degree in social work providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). For Social Workers, membership of the AASW and demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development is highly desirable. At least 5 years' experience working as a psychologist or social worker is also highly desirable. Other: The successful applicant may be required to perform duty with any QPS group or work unit throughout Queensland through means of remote service delivery, on an as needs basis.
