The Wellbeing and HR Support Division delivers a range of HR services, developing and fostering safe, fair and harmonious workplaces with managers and staff that enable the agency to deliver on its goal of making it easier to engage with the services that Australians rely on.
We are looking for experienced Senior HR Professionals who can confidently navigate complex people matters, including complaints resolution.
We are looking for experienced individuals with capability in one or more of the following areas:
HR Advisory –provide high level advice and support services on complex people management matters. Workplace Relations – provide support to the business on consultation and collaborative approaches to workplace relations. Liaise with union and staff representatives to resolve issues and support business areas to manage industrial risk.Employee Relations – provide advice on complex individual people matters, grievance resolution, workplace dynamics and competitive remuneration for individuals with specialised skills. Conduct Standards – undertake investigations into suspected breaches of the APS Code of Conduct in accordance with the Public Service Act 1999.Respect – provide specialist human centred support and advice to employees and their managers who experience inappropriate or unlawful workplace behaviour, bullying or harassment, conflict resolution, Family and Domestic Violence and provide a swift, empathetic and effective response to employees in need. The role involves responding to calls and emails from employees and managers.HR Policy - ensure HR policies and delegations reflect current and future workforce needs, through effective and simple messaging to stakeholders.A critical aspect of these roles is to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. The roles require a considerable degree of professional diplomacy, tact and sensitivity.
You will work autonomously and under the broad direction of the Assistant Director and Director to deliver quality outcomes, with decision-making that is dependent on judgement, skills and knowledge. To be successful in these roles, you will have the ability to provide leadership, advice and support on HR best practice in line with people strategies, legislation, policies and processes.
You may also be responsible for managing and leading small teams.
We are responsible for the development of service delivery policy and provide access to social, health and other payments and services.
On 26 October 2004, we were created as part of the Finance and Administration portfolio. The Human Services Legislation Amendment Act 2011 integrated Medicare Australia and Centrelink into the Department of Human Services on 1 July 2011
We work closely with Australian Hearing in providing strategic advice to the Minister and Secretary on service delivery policy and regulatory requirements for services delivered under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program.
