The Senior Health Informatics Officer is responsible for supporting Health Informatics activities including patient administration system management and support, patient record forms design and management and provision of project management, support and training for new system implementations as part of the eHealth agenda.
The Health Informatics Officer will provide support to the Director Clinical Health Information Services in clinical information system governance, data quality audits, the development and delivery of training and education around data quality and new system implementations within the Caboolture Hospital directorate.
About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide support to the Manager, Health Informatics in the management, maintenance and data quality reporting of relevant systems including the Patient Administration System (e.g. HBCIS), Enterprise Discharge Summary (EDS), The Viewer (TV), QFlow, Message Media, ESM, ieMR and My Health Record to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and quality of patient and related data, including maintenance of relevant procedures and other HIS resources and provision of support and training of clinical and non-clinical staff. Actively support the Manager, Health Informatics in the project management and implementation of an electronic medical record as part of the Department of Health and Metro North Hospital and Health Service initiatives; and assist in the development and coordination of change management processes required for eHealth systems implementations. Participate in the coordination of the collection and reporting of performance data for HIS supported systems including EDS, STS, The Viewer and the Patient Administration Management System (e.g. HBCIS). Provide support in quality improvement processes and audit mechanisms for the information systems to ensure these systems deliver required objectives (for health care providers, corporate reporting, funding requirements etc.), including regular quality data audits and analysis to ensure data integrity. Maintain current knowledge and understanding of developments and provide advice within Caboolture Hospital in the development, implementation and maintenance of all current and future patient information management system.
